One of my favorite drinks is the Red Eye. Essentially it's beer and tomato juice- or clamato juice if you're classy... which I am of course. When I came across this recipe for a spicy Red Eye, I had to give it a try. It's the same as your standard one- but with a few dashes of hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce added in.
As much as I enjoy the classic recipe, I must say that I really do enjoy the spicy version as well. It has a nice bite that balances out with the tang of the clamato juice, and the lightness of the lager beer. It's a very relaxed and casual sort of drink- just right for stretching out on a hammock and reading a book with. You can very easily put your feet up, and sip this while enjoying the scenery from your patio as well.
It's not a nightclub drink- but is a very good pub drink to have while enjoying lunch with friends.
The only problem with this recipe is that by using Mott's "Extra Spicy" Clamato Juice, you make this actual recipe moot. It gives you exactly the same taste as what this recipe gives you... and make it easier to make.
If you want to try something different while grilling up a steak, or already of fan of drinking Red Eyes, give this drink a go- I don't think you'd be disappointed. I'm giving it a "Good".
