Further proof there are no original ideas left in Hollywood; we've got two -- count 'em two -- new trailers for your eye holes today. One is for a sequel 15 years in the making, and comes a quarter of a century after the first Bad Boys came out. The other is for a remake of Bob Clark's horror classic, Black Christmas.
And yes, this is the second time Black Christmas has been remade.
The funny thing is, both the trailers work. I'm actually excited for these films. Don't believe me? Check them out:
This actually feels like a Bad Boys movie. The look. The humour. The explosions. The glorious profanity. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have their banter down solid. I enjoy the first two Bad Boys, and I'm sure I will like this one too.
And this looks like director Sophia Takal has brought something new to the table. Sure, the elements of the original Black Christmas are all here, but this has a fresh perspective, and seems pretty clever. I just hope they didn't give everything away in this fun trailer.
Bad Boys For Life opens Jan. 17, 2020. The new Black Christmas opens Dec. 13.
