Looks like the folks at Blizzard have decided to add a culture icon to their cast of World of Warcraft characters.
That's right, gaming nerds: the Marvel Comics founder and frequent MCU guest star has one more cameo up his sleeve, other than Avengers: Endgame, of course.
The folks over at io9 report WoW's 8.15 patch pays tribute to Lee, who died last November, by adding him to WoW's public test realms. He takes the form of an NPC named Stanley.
Public test realms are WoWs beta servers, where players bug test upcoming content drops... whatever that means.
The elderly human takes the appearance of Lee's recent cameos in Marvel movie and games. And yes, he does blurt out his trademark catchphrase "Excelsior" when greeting King Anduin... whoever that is.
My wife is a big WoW fan, and I play once in a while (more of a PS4 guy myself). But this is a pretty cool way to pay homage to one of the biggest cultural influencers of our time.

In Blizzard's @TheRealStanLee tribute, Stanley exclaims "Excelsior!" when entering the Stormwind Throne Room: https://t.co/8OEoTbGlud pic.twitter.com/hwahXryoyn— Wowhead (@Wowhead) January 10, 2019
