There's a new dark comedy hitting VOD just in time for Black History Month, and it takes a hard look at what it's like growing up black in L.A.
Written by and starring Dominque Purdy, Driving While Black is based on his real-life experiences as a person of colour in Los Angeles, particularly his encounters with the police.
As explained by the press release, Driving While Black is half comedy of errors, and half hard-bitten realism tucked into a sly treatise on 21st century over policing. Scope out the trailer:
Driving While Black is directed by Paul Sapiano, and hits Video On Demand by way of Artist Rights Distribution Inc. Feb 1.
