A Star Is Born with Venom

Two decidedly different movies duke it out for your box-office dollars this weekend. One is a highly praised drama from Bradley Cooper, the other a comic-book movie starring Tom Hardy with a parasite.

Yup, Jason and Howie are talking about A Star Is Born and Venom on the Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show later this morning!

Truth be told, each movie will appeal to a different demographic. A Star Is Born's buzz -- and fans of leads Cooper and Lady Gaga -- will bring in crowds for sure. And Venom is a highly popular Marvel Comics character starring a talented lead. Plus comic books and Marvel are the tits right now.

Tits is a technical term.

There's also some entertainment news to discuss -- including the skinny on Black Mirror's upcoming season -- and a rundown on what to catch in the home market this weekend (pssst, Malevolent).

So tune in at about 8:40 a.m. either on the 610 AM dial or via the player to your right. As always, Mike S will be tweeting up a storm over at @CameTheBasement. The extended cut featuring our man Shawn drops on Sunday.

Review: The Proposal (2018)

Star Marc Natoli says that line about half way through the action short The Proposal, and there's no better way to sum the film up. Although just 10 or so minutes long, The Proposal is everything an action fan could ask for.

In fact, the only complaint I've got is I wanted more!

Millennium After the Millennium, Mission: Impossible - Fallout and Teen Titans Go! To the Movies

Aside from having the longest episode title in Basement history, the latest entry in our eight-year-long series also marks the first time Shawn has not appeared on the show!

Yup, no Shawn for you! He's on vacation.

But the Mad Twit Mike S sits down with Jason for this, the extended cut of Friday's segment on the mighty Radio NL 610 AM Kamloops, featuring an interview with filmmakers Troy Foreman and Jason Morris about their documentary Millennium After the Millennium.

The Basement Boys kick off their eight to 10 minute segment at about 8:20 a.m., riffing on this week's new theatrical releases, plus sharing their thoughts on whatever passes through their movie-massacred minds.
