Make mine The Basement on Friday

It's the biggest weekend of the year down the good 'ole U.S. of A., and that means a mighty Marvel Cinematic Universe release is headed our way.

This of course can only mean one thing: it's time for We Came from the Basement to join Howie Reimer on the Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show and talk about it.

That's right, the Basement Boys are gonna yap Any Man and the Wasp, which brings back Paul Rudd's insect-sized superhero for another go round. In this sequel, he's aided by Wasp, played by the lovely Evangeline Lily. Suffice to say, this is expected to be the big release of the week.

However, in a brilliant bit of counter programming, The First Purge, which is the latest in The Purge series, is also coming out. The "films" have strong legs at the box office, so it will be interesting to see how this Purge fairs against the MCU titan.

But that's not all! Jason, Shawn and Howie always come up with other, interesting things to talk about. So it's best that I stop typing, lest I spoil all the fun . . . which begins at about 8:40 a.m. today. Stick with us!

Don't forget to follow the mad tweets of Mike S over at @CameTheBasement on Twitter! An extended cut of this segment drops right here in The Basement on Sunday morning.

Review: The Proposal (2018)

"Admit it: that was cool as fuck."

Star Marc Natoli says that line about half way through the action short The Proposal, and there's no better way to sum the film up. Although just 10 or so minutes long, The Proposal is everything an action fan could ask for.

In fact, the only complaint I've got is I wanted more!

Millennium After the Millennium, Mission: Impossible - Fallout and Teen Titans Go! To the Movies

Aside from having the longest episode title in Basement history, the latest entry in our eight-year-long series also marks the first time Shawn has not appeared on the show!

Yup, no Shawn for you! He's on vacation.

But the Mad Twit Mike S sits down with Jason for this, the extended cut of Friday's segment on the mighty Radio NL 610 AM Kamloops, featuring an interview with filmmakers Troy Foreman and Jason Morris about their documentary Millennium After the Millennium.

Back in Black: The Basement returns today
