New poster, stills from sci-fi chiller Alienated

Movies about aliens are big in The Basement, largely because Shawn is a huge fan of the alien invasion/abduction/end-of-the-world genre. Although popular in the mainstream thanks to The X-Files and Independence Day, there always seems to be more to mine from the alleged phenomenon.

Which is where indie flicks like Alienated come in. Shot in six day, largely at one location, Brian Ackley's story has a smaller focus, but still promises edge-of-your-seat entertainment.

The film is also, sadly, the last appearance of actor Taylor Negron, who Basementites might remember as the villainous Milo in the 1991 Bruce Willis action classic The Last Boy Scout.

Milo: "Just once, I want to hear you scream."

Hallenbeck: "Play some rap music."

Gold.

I digress. Alienated is about a married couple who is forced to confront their fatal relationship issues while on the brink of a possible alien abduction. George Katt and Jen Burry also star.
