Captain America vs Batman vs Superman

No, this isn't the comic-book battle royal to end all comic-book battle royals. It's a release date showdown that's set to take place on the movie viewing weekend of May 6, 2016.

This is the weekend Marvel has earmarked for the third film in its Captain America franchise. That's right, the studio is so confident that Captain America: The Winter Soldier will clean house at the box office next month that a third film is already planned.

Well, Warner Bros. has bumped the release date for Batman vs Superman to that very same weekend, which means a big box office battle is a brewin'.

Batman vs Superman was originally supposed to hit theatre screens next year, but script problems called for it's release to be delayed. Yes, this is the unofficial sequel to last year's hit Man of Steel.

The question now is whether one of studios blinks and a film's release is shifted. I'm sure that answer will come after Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens April 4. If that movie is as big as everyone anticipates, I can see Batman vs Superman making another move.

And yes, I posted this article so I could display another picture of the lovely Scarlett Johansson, even if she shares the space with some dude in a costume.
