Marvel's upcoming sci-fi/comic-book flick Guardians of the Galaxy could be the latest home run for the comic-company-turned-movie giant, or it'll flop hard. There will be no middle ground.
Given that Slither and Super director James Gunn is at the helm, I'm hoping it's the former and not the latter.
Guardians opens Aug.1, and all we've seen are a couple of stills. Well, word has it we'll finally witness some footage tomorrow night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with star Chris Pratt on hand to introduce the preview. I have a feeling contributor Matt Bellamy will be watching, as he's more primed for this movie than anyone I know.
In the far reaches of space, an American pilot named Peter Quill finds himself the object of a manhunt after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan. That's what it's about, for the record.
I don't know if I'm sold on a movie that features a gun-wielding space raccoon and an animate tree with the voice of Vin Diesel. Then again, I find Hudson Hawk and Last Action Hero funny, so who am I to judge?
We'll bring you the trailer ASAP.
