Splatterlands 2013, Grey Matter Press.
Edited by Anthony Rivera and Sharon Lawson
From Necrophilia to a hitman with a
heart. A family heirloom, a letter written by a distraught parent and
so many points in between. Welcome to the Splatterlands.
As a long time reader of anthologies,
there are high and low points. This has no low points. This is what
short horror fiction is all about. The first story is a slap in the
face.. you see it coming and it knocks you on your ass. Each story in
this collection has its own pulse, you never get a chance to catch
your breath. They just keep coming.
I was very impressed with the show from
the newer writers. Eric Del Carlo's Devil Rides Shotgun blew my doors
off.. Cannot wait to read more by him. Ray Garton's Housesitting,
I've been a long time reader of Mr. G and I don't think he could write
something bad if he tried. Every story in this collection will get
under your skin. I was making espresso at 3 AM to finish the book.
If you like your horror messy, and a
little chunky, read this book. I look so forward to everything this
publisher does. I want more! They are bringing the horror anthology
back. I give it a Good.
