Yeah, you read that headline right. Emily DiPrimio (pictured) is going to make an 80s style slasher film with her dad's help. And yours actually.
When Emily was four her dad, Ron, wrote a short script called Wake, and cast her in the film. Since then, the dad-and-daughter duo have made one feature length film, Sorrow Hill, and several short films including For Love of Zombies and The Playground. Both have played in horror festivals across the country.
Now Emily and Ron are about to embark on their most ambitious project yet -- which is where the 80s style slasher movie comes in. And they've kicked off a Kickstarter campaign to help raise the $25,000 they need to get the flick made.
There's more to Ron and Emily's story than this, and you can hear it on our September special, which lands Friday, Sept. 13.
Suffice to say, Emily will direct the flick, which is called Carver. What's it about? Check it:
A group of teenagers are haunted by a despicable act they committed on Halloween when they were younger. Their actions caused the deaths of three innocent people. Now, on the anniversary of those deaths, an ominous calling card in the form of a carved pumpkin has been placed at each of their homes. Someone is out for revenge. The question is...who?
Sounds like our pint of beer to be sure! If you want to learn more about Carver and help get the flick made, check out the Kickstarter page right here!
And stick with us Sept. 13 for an exclusive interview with Emily and Ron and a review of the Australian sci-fi-action-horror film Crawlspace.
