A documentary that's rapidly climbing to the top of my must-see list is Eric Walter's My Amityville Horror. The flick explores the legend of 112 Ocean Ave. in Amityville, Long Island from the perspective of one of three children who lived it, Daniel Lutz.
For those who aren't in the know -- which means you've lived under a rock for the better part of four decades -- the Lutz family moved into 112 Ocean in 1975, just 13 months after Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot and killed six members of his family in the home. After only 28 days, the Lutzs, which included George, Kathy and her three children, fled the house claiming they had been terrorized by the supernatural.
Their story made national headlines, and the family became infamous through appearances on talk shows, Jay Anson's book The Amityville Horror, and 10 features films.
Bloody Disgusting posted four clips from the documentary today. We've got one for you below, and it's unnerving to say the least. Given that I've been on a big Amityville kick as of late, I'm looking forward to hunting this bad boy down.
My Amityville Horror is accessible on SundanceNOW, Xbox, iTunes in the U.S. and PS3.
