Amber Heard joins Splinter director's Dead Sands

If you haven't seen director Toby Wilkins' Splinter by now then Jebus help you. It's hands down one of the best independent horror/monster movies out there. And his follow up, The Grudge 3, is lightyears better than the franchise's second installment. This man needs a mainstream hit!

And, if anyone can help help Wilkins achieve that, it's hottie Amber Heard (pictured, in case you've been living in a cave the last decade or so). And by help I mean bring attention to his latest project, Dead Sands.

Heard is many glorious things, and a horror fan is one of them. She's certainly loyal to the genre that's put her on the map. What's Dead Sands about? Here be the synopsis: “Two humvees tear across a desert. Soldiers escort a captured terrorist leader, Gabir. During a “pit stop,” Gabir escapes into a nearby abandoned industrial complex. The sodliers chase, but before they find Gabir…an inhuman creature finds them. A frightful radio transmission is all that remains of their final mission…”

No word yet on when cameras roll or when Dead Sands comes out. Nor how Heard fits into all this. But we look forward to finding out. Credit to Bloody Disgusting for the news.
