A24 has secured themselves as the go-to place for high-quality genre cinema. The Witch, Hereditary, Ex Machina. The list goes on. The upcoming Low Tide looks to continue that trend, with writer/director Kevin McMullin exploring the dark side of The Goonies. The film details how the discovery of a bag of gold coins impacts a group of friends. Note, the group of friends already rob rich people's homes in order to fund their summer fun. I'm sure things go downhill for the gang pretty quickly. Here's a clip: Low Tide stars Daniel Zolghadri, Kristine Froseth and Mike Hodge. It's available right now on DirecTV, and in select theatres Oct 4. Source: A24
