In 2020, I worked my way through all of the " Star Wars " movies, and reviewed them.  Well... I'm at it again- but this time working my way through all of the " Star Trek " movies... After a mysterious cloud absorbs a Klingon fleet, Starfleet sends it's best ship and crew in an attempt to stop it.  Will Kirk and the others be able to do what the Klingons could not? Unlike the movie, this review is going to be fairly short.  " Star Trek: The Motion Picture " is a beautiful film- but a tad too long.  While watching it, I couldn't help but have some flashbacks to my time watching Stanley Kubrick's " 2001: A Space Odyssey ". The look and feel was very much influenced by Kubrick's film, and the story is also quite lofty in nature- though a bit more character driven.  As gorgeous as the sequences showing the USS Enterprise for the first time... and leaving dock... and moving through the mysterious cloud were, they were unnecessari...

Music is an important part of a movie.  It enhances the mood and emotional impact of a scene- makes it scary, dramatic, exciting, funny, etc. So, what follows are my Top Five Soundtrack Songs: "Haunted Heart" (Christina Aguilera):  This song is from the start of the latest animated "Addams Family" movie.  It is a nice, haunting, beautiful song- a song fitting for introducing Mortica Addams. "The Touch" (Stan Bush):  This is considered one of the best songs to appear in an animated film.  That film being "Transformers" from (1986).  Just a really energetic, rocking song. "Hooked on a Feeling" (Blue Swede):  The Guardians of the Galaxy is known for it's classic songs- for me one of the more iconic ones from that movie is "Hooked on a Feeling".  A nice, bouncy, relaxed song that you can bop around to like Starlord on an alien planet looking for an Infinity Stone... A long time ago, in a Basement not too far away, I gave a review of Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey". I give it a bit of a dissing, and placed it in "The Bad". And the hate flowed through you fans like lightning from a Sith Lord's fingers. Will you need to prepare your sparkle fingers by the of this reassessment of my views on the movie? Maybe.  Maybe not.
