The past couple of days have been spent with Resident Evil. Friday was the frustration of trying to impatiently wait for the Resident Evil 2 1-Shot Demo to drop, and then the disappointment of not completing the demo within the 30 minutes.
However, I did return to the demo the following day on my husband's PS4, and that was much more satisfying. I actually finished it with nine minutes to spare. I enjoyed it this time, but it killed me to leave all the unsolved puzzles behind me. Only 11 more days and I can return to those puzzles!
Because of being tantalized by Resident Evil 2, I decided to return to Resident Evil 7. I've finished it already, but I've been wanting to revisit it since the moment I finished it, because it was so much fun to play. It has nothing to do with the fact I never used my antique coins to level up my coins and such. I saved them all 'cause I had no idea how to use them. Yep, that's me! Now it's pretty obvious how to use them, but back then, nope. Not a clue.
Now, this upcoming week, there's a few games that have caught my interest:
My Time at Portia is a game I kickstarted in September 2017. It's a crafting/building game with exploration and fighting thrown in as well. Tuesday it comes out of early access, and I look forward to diving into something new.
Coming out the same day is an indie game called Vane by developer Friend and Foe. I stumbled across it last week, and what pulled me to it was both the graphics and story. You start off as a bird who gets turned into a lost child by some strange golden dust. I like the idea that there will be no handholding, and I'll have to figure out what to do by just doing.
Next is a bigger game, Breach, by QC Games. It's a free-to-play cop-op action/RPG that starts early access Jan. 17. You pick whatever class you want, and you and others will fight mythological creatures towards the final area, where you'll be up against the final boss. I generally don't like early access, because I want the shininess of a full and complete game, not teased with something almost-good-enough. But I'll give it a try on Thursday and see if it's worth it.
Friday brings a blast from the past: Diablo 2. I've never been much for mods. I like playing the game in its original form, flaws and all. But... I've got a soft spot for Diablo 2. I've never heard of Median XL, but it's a mod that I guess has been out for a while. They have a huge update coming Jan. 18 that's going to update the engine, add new areas, monsters, bosses, boss events, map reveals, auto picks, dungeons, rifts. It's freaking huge! I'm curious, so Friday is Diablo 2 day.
Throughout the week I'll stream my escapades on my Twitch channel gametimewithjess. Join me for awkwardness and fun.
