You read that right, it's the high-concept mashup you didn't even know you needed to see . . . coming straight to Video On Demand in August!
Yup, director Chris Raney has made a medieval horror flick with dwarves, dragons and something sinister lurking inside a cave, and it's called Dragon Mountain.
Judging from the trailer below, this is a pretty low-budget fantasy fable, but that's the nature of the beast when it comes to indie filmmaking. Setting such a story in a cave is actually a good idea, given the limited coin (I'm sure) and production values.
Check it:
Robert Morgan (Solo: A Star Wars Story) and Brent Bateman (Birdman) star. As for the plot: four dwarves are mining in the dangerous Dragon Mountain when a violent explosion causes a cave in, trapping them deep within the earth. With oxygen and supplies low, the dwarves must work together to figure a way out. But the path to freedom leads them into a deadly encounter with something . . . hungry!
This could be good, or horrible. We'll find out when Dragon Mountain hits VOD Aug. 7 and DVD in September.
