I've been primed for Showtime's Penny Dreadful since that first trailer hit a couple of months ago. With the show's May 11 debut just around the corner, the marketing campaign is in full swing and has brought us another . . . look at horror-themed series. Suffice to say, it's an eyeful.
Yes, it's been a very puny Easter here in The Basement. Deal with it!
Penny Dreadful sees some of literatures most famous characters, including Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and figures from Bram Stoker's Dracula, become embroiled in a dark mystery in Victorian London.
Eva Green, Timothy Dalton and Josh Hartnett headline the cast, and the show is created by Gladiator and Skyfall scribe John Logan. Given how awesome non-network TV has become, I think Penny Dreadful deserves a watch. What say you?
