Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the cemetery, The Tall Man and Don Coscarelli's weird-ass horror franchise return to drive balls through your skulls.
Sounds kinda perverse when put that way, doesn't it?
Mike, now released from a psychiatric hospital, continues his journey to stop the evil Tall Man and his grim work.
The fact a major studio backed this flick 10 years after the first was released impresses the hell out of me. Yeah, it's slightly more mainstream than Phantasm, but still pretty strange, and no less entertaining. In fact, Phantasm 2 is a lot of fun and even more out there than part one.
Honestly, what more is there to say other than what the hell happened to Paula Irvine? Everything you liked in Phantasm is done bigger and better, and we're treated to several nifty explosions. Night. Booked.
Gotta love the four-barrelled shotgun too!
I liked the first movie. I had even more fun with the second. Bring on part three! A Good.
