New featurette for The Collection gives us the gore

Yeah, we've been pimpin' the Marcus Dunstan's gore porn sequel The Collection for a while now, and we're not even huge fans of the original. But . . . and this is a heavy but . . . there's something about this follow up that just looks so . . . bloody! Case in the point, the featurette below, which explains some of The Collection's bloodier bits in detail. Grim detail. What can I say? This is a video worth posting. Especially given that the film spills 55 gallons of blood in the first few minutes. Sold! The sequel picks up soon after The Collector ends. Arkin (Josh Stewart) escapes with his life from the vicious grips of The Collector during an entrapment party where the villain adds beautiful Elena (Emma Fitzpatrick, pictured above) to his collection. Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena's wealthy father. Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track do...

Karl Urban talks Dredd 3D in this featurette

Who's psyched for some Dredd 3D? All of you? Good. You can stay. Shawn and I are pretty convinced the upcoming adaptation of the popular British comic book character is gonna own. And advance buzz out of the festival circuit -- most recently TIFF 2012 -- is almost overwhelmingly positive. So here's hoping the film lives up to the hype once it hits on Sept. 21. Below is a featurette that shows a bunch of new images and has Dredd himself, Karl Urban, and the character's creator, John Wagner, talking up the hero. Urban is perfectly cast, in my opinion. In case you don't know what director Pete Travis's film is all about, here's the rundown: In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO.  Here's the featurette. I am the law!

Featurette for The Possession explains what a Dibbuk is

We first reported on the upcoming horror flick The Possession waaaaaayyyy back at the start of Season Two of our show. Back then the Ole Bornedal directed film was called Dibbuk Box, which refers to the item in which the evil spirit of the story is held. Right or wrong, the folks over at Lionsgate decided no one would get what the deuce a Dibbuk Box is and changed the title to the far more generic, but easier to market, The Possession. The film opens next Friday. However, the Dibbuk is still a big part of the movie, so the marketing arm at Lionsgate put together this featurette to explain what the hell it is. And we've embedded it below to better inform Basement Dwellers. Remember, knowing is half the battle. The Possession follows a young girl who buys an antique box at a yard sale, unaware that inside the collectible lives a malicious ancient spirit. The girl's father teams with his ex-wife to find a way to end the curse upon their child.

What The Bourne Legacy is all about, Charlie Brown

OK, Charlie Brown has nothing to do with this post. I just took a line from A Charlie Brown Christmas and cleverly worked it into a headline for a story about an action movie. Charlie Brown fans will likely want to navigate somewhere else, but thanks for visiting. So to, might fans of the Bourne films if they want to go into the upcoming sequel, The Bourne Legacy, completely cold. The below featurette isn't a complete tell-all, but it does spill quite a few beans about what to expect when the film opens next month. If you're like me and hate surprises, view on, brother! The Bourne Legacy is an expansion of the universe from Robert Ludlum's novels, centered on a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose stakes have been triggered by the events of the previous three films.

All about Prometheus . . . the spaceship that is

Because there isn't already enough anticipation for Ridley Scott's return to the sci-fi franchise Alien, we've got this handy little featurette from the new film Prometheus, due out June 8. This two-minute video details the design and construction of the spaceship at the centre of the film, the Prometheus itself. There's interviews with the cast, which includes Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Chalize Theron, Scott and the production designer. It's interesting stuff if you're a hardcore movie nerd like me. Prometheus follows a team of explorers who discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. Enjoy the video!

The Hoff talks Piranha 3DD

David Hasselhoff has to rank right up there with William Shatner, Adam West and Christopher Walken as one of the most self aware stars of all time. He knows why he's famous, he knows his best days are likely behind him, and he remains relevant by playing to that. As a result, he's pretty much as popular now as he ever was. Below is a featurette of The Hoff talking his latest role . . . playing himself in the upcoming sequel, Piranha 3DD. Hasselhoff clearly isn't taking himself seriously anymore, so why should anyone else. And I say good on him! This is two minutes well spent, and it's fucking funny as fuck! Piranha 3DD stars The Hoff, Katrina Bowden, Danielle Panabaker, Gary Busey, and Christopher Lloyd. It'll achieve a limited release in theatres June 1.
