Head's up, it's a new Dead Snow: Red vs Dead poster

Oh yes please! We've talked loud and long about the upcoming sequel to Tommy Wirkola 's bloody awesome Dead Snow . So much so that I (almost) tire at revealing little tidbits about the flick and just want to see the damn movie already. Alas, we have to wait until next month before Dead Snow: Red vs Dead hits VOD and limited theatres. In the meantime, we have a groovy new poster for your eye holes.

A bloody good trailer for Dead Snow: Red vs Dead

We've seen the posters and gazed at the images, now it's time to watch some footage for Tommy Wirkola 's much anticipated Dead Snow : Red vs. Dead. And yes, Mike S, we see how Martin gets his arm back. Spoiler alert. Watch, and learn: If the worst day of your life consisted of accidentally killing your girlfriend with an axe, chain-sawing your own arm off, and watching in horror as your closest friends were devoured by a zombified Nazi battalion, you'd have to assume that things couldn't get much worse. In Martin's case, that was only the beginning. Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead makes its North American debut at the Sundance Film Festival . It stars Vegar Hoel, Stig Frode Henriksen, Martin Starr , Ørjan Gamst, Ingrid Haas, Jocelyn DeBoer. First poster for Dead Snow 2 is ready to rumble

It's been a week of trailers and posters in the world of movie news. You can tell the industry is gearing down for Christmas . This will likely be The Basement's last newsy post until after the day of peace and joy. And how fitting it is -- given the winter weather -- that it's the first poster for director Tommy Wirkola 's follow-up to his Nazi/zombie hit Dead Snow . The sequel is, appropriately enough, called Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead. Judging from the poster, sole survivor Martin from the first movie is ready to throw down with some dead Nazis . Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead makes its North American debut at the Sundance Film Festival . It stars Vegar Hoel, Stig Frode Henriksen, Martin Starr , Ørjan Gamst, Ingrid Haas, Jocelyn DeBoer. A trio of Dead Snow 2 images creep online

All of us in The Basement love the Norwegian Nazi-zombie flick Dead Snow . And by love I mean we have a great appreciation for the marriage of action, gore and black comedy that only a die hard horror fan can get off on. So we're pumped for director Tommy Wirkola 's follow-up, which sees the lone survivor of the first film return with an army of his own to take out the undead -- and clearly racist -- horde of Nazis once and for all. Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead makes its North American debut at the Sundance Film Festival . Until then, scope out this trio of new stills from the flick. Jason versus Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

It needs to be said right out the gate, Tommy Wirkola 's Dead Snow is the cat's ass. Based on the strength of that film alone, I had an inkling that Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters would be something special. That's why I pimped the fuck out of it on the site sight unseen. Now it's time to put the Jeremy Renner /Gemma Arterton fairy-tale-action-horror flick on the chopping block. Hansel and Gretel are bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world. As the fabled Blood Moon approaches, the siblings encounter a new form of evil that might hold a secret to their past. First off, kudos to Paramount Pictures and MGM for showing faith in this tough-to-market movie and releasing it in the hard R-rated version it was intended. There's no way, and I mean no way, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters would fly in a trimmed down, PG-13 version. No way. This is a bloody, foul mouthed and fun as fuck flick that pulls no punches and never ceases to enter...

Hansel and Gretel will hunt more witches for Paramount

We pimped the shit out of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters here in The Basement, but have yet to actually see it. I know, we suck. Wait . . . no we don't! We're just a couple of busy motherfuckers! Wanna fight about it? Enough people DID see Tommy Wirkola 's action/horror flick to convince Paramount Pictures to make a second one. Actually, the film has made more than $200 million worldwide on an alleged budget of about $50 Million. Not bad. Question is will Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton return. Both are rapidly climbing the Hollywood A-list and might not have time for such silly things as hunting witches. Then again, a franchise is a franchise. And, as Shawn and I discuss this week (Thursday to be exact) more A-listers need to do B-movies. They just do. In this spin on the fairy tale, Hansel and Gretel are now bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world. As the fabled Blood Moon approaches, the siblings encounter a new form of evil that...

Dead Snow 2 shoots in 2014

Tommy Wirkola’s horror/comedy Dead Snow is one of my favourite genre movies of the last five or so years. And now that the director has finally put Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters to bed, he's ready to tackle a follow up to his cult fave. For those who haven't seen Dead Snow, it features a group of friends enjoying a snowy vacation until a bunch of undead Nazis show up. As for the sequel, Wirkola had this to say to the crew from Shock Till You Drop: "I really want to do a sequel to Dead Snow and we have a script for it," Wirkola said.   "I truly love it and I think it's better than the first film, but it's going to take a lot more money to pull off.  So, we're going to go [into production] next winter, not this winter.  The first Dead Snow was split in two.  The first half is a classical horror movie, the second half goes nuts.  With Dead Snow 2 , it starts right where the first film left off and is full throttle from beginning to end....
