The Leah Broussard interview, parallel universes and a little Tarantino

The Basement Boys return, and move further into the realm of all-things entertainment, with their latest interview... one steeped in the subject of science fiction. Jay speaks with Tennessee physicist Leah Broussard, who is preparing to open a doorway into a parallel -- or mirror -- universe. How? Why? What secrets does she hope to unlock? These are the questions Jay asks, and Leah answers. And yes: some Stranger Things references are made.

David Duchovny drops hints on The X-Files's return

It's no secret The X-Files is coming back to the small screen for a limited engagement, much like 24 did a year ago. To me, that's great news. I loved the first five seasons of the sci-fi/horror series, and sporadically checked back with the show now and again. The first movie was awesome. The less said about the second the better. The fact pretty much everyone involved with the show during it's decade-long run is back gives me hope that we're in for something special. Fans know very little at this point, other than the intent is to wrap up the mythology, which was somewhat unravelled when the series ended in the early 2000s.

Mike S tweets Galaxy Quest

Once a week our mad twit Mike S from the Corner of Terror will shanghai The Basement's Twitter account and tweet along to a non- horror movie , all for your Internet pleasure. Cool, yes!?! We think so.  This week, The S ventured back to 1999 and the only really good movie Tim Allen has ever made. That's right, Galaxy Quest ! It's 7:00 pm ( PST ), and Mike S is here to tweet along to... # GalaxyQuest ! Who here has been to a Sci-Fi/Comic/Horror convention? Jay's been to a Star Trek on... bastard. :P # GalaxyQuest   But... But Sigourney- we all LOVE how well your boobs fit into your suit. REALLY love how well they fit. # GalaxyQuest   I love Alan Rickman 's face when they play his character's catch phrase... such a look of disgusted resignation... # GalaxyQuest   I think I could handle being killed by a lava monster before the 1st commercial... # GalaxyQuest   I wonder how many stars realize they wouldn't have a career without their fan...

New Oblivion trailer ups the thinking and explosions

The more I see of the new Tom Cruise sci-fi flick Oblivion, the more I'm convinced we're in for a real treat -- a smart, dazzling sci-fi adventure that'll thrill as much as it'll make us think. How cool is that? Very! This new trailer just cements my opinion. And it shows more of Oscar winner Melissa Leo and bad to the ass hottie/former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko . And Morgan Freeman who, at the mere mention of his name, makes my inner voice sound like Morgan Freeman. Oblivion follows Cruise’s Jack Harper as he works to repair security drones on a ravaged planet Earth following an alien invasion. When Jack defies orders by rescuing a familiar stranger from a crashed spaceship, he ignites a chain of events that exposes everything he’s been told about the invasion as a lie.  Watch your ass this new trailer, and prepare for Oblivion's release in theatres and IMAX on April 19.   Video: Oblivion - exclusive trailer Source:  MSN Related articles N...
