Hottie Rachel Nichols battles an ancient evil in Becoming

It's Thanksgiving in the good ole U.S. of A., which means movie news grinds to a halt for a few days. Gotta love Americans. They really know how to holiday. But we have learned via Horror-Movies.ca and Bloody Disgusting that genre hottie Rachel Nichols (G.I. Joe, Conan the Barbarian,) has joined The Hangover's Justin Bartha in the upcoming Canadian psychological thriller Becoming. Details are scant at this point other than Nichols (pictured) and Bartha play Lisa and Alex, a young couple on a road trip tracing some family roots. Alex is gradually taken over by a malevolent entity that replaces his identity. One can assume it's bad scoobies from there. Becoming is directed by Omar Naim. No details yet on when cameras roll or a potential release date.

Micro Review: Conan the Barbarian (2011)

A far better film than it has any right to be, Marcus Nispel's retelling of Robert E. Howard's tale doesn't even try to outdo the 1982 version starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Instead, it holds true to the Howard material while telling its own story in brutally violent fashion. In fact, it's the non-stop violence and bloodshed that keeps this movie afloat. There's copious amounts of blood, beasts and boobies to satisfy exploitation fans. In no way does Jason Momoa's Conan replace Schwarzenegger's interpretation, but he still does a fine job in bringing the barbarian to life. And who doesn't want to look at Rachel Nichols for about two hours? Whenever I'm in the mood for rampant carnage, I'll throw this take on Conan in the player. A Good from me.

Conan gets a red band trailer

Any fears of a watered down Conan The Barbarian hitting theatres in August have been dashed thanks to this red band trailer, which offers gallons of blood and violence and a hint of sex and boobies. Does this mean the latest version of Robert E. Howard's barbarian will be any good? I seriously have my doubts. But at least my bloodlust will be satiated. Jason Momoa is certainly giving the role his all, but he has a long way to go to best Ah-nold. We'll know more when Conan hits theatres Aug.19. Until then, watch the blood spill! Enter the world of the barbarian

We've been pretty quiet about the upcoming Conan The Barbarian remake. Probably because we tend to shun remakes and nobody, but NOBODY, will ever replace Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role. But one is coming, and some guy Jason Momoa is playing Conan. The first teaser trailer has arrived, and it shows precious little about the plot, not that it's hard to figure out what a Conan movie is all about. Actually, as far as teaser trailers go, it's sucks. But that means the movie could be good as trailers, teasers or otherwise, say nothing about the quality of the final product. Watch the teaser below, judge for yourselves, and let us know what you think. The film also stars Ron Perlman, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang,  and Rose McGowan and will cost you three extra dollars to see when it hits theatres August 19.
