Brooke Lewis tackles the pre-apocalypse in Lazarus

Yeah, we're supposed to be taking a break. But when our favourite Scream Queen asks us if we wouldn't mind promoting her latest project, Lazarus, we're willing to put down the martinis and help out. Brooke Lewis plays the no-nonsense Betty Page-esque Ms. Daniels, an executive at Topaz Insurance company who sends investigator George Lazarus down a mysterious road into the mouth of darkness. The flick takes place in 1957 Hollywood and follows Lazarus as he looks into a suspicious claim put in by Harvest International Tobacco company. Lazarus soon learns all 12 employees named in the claim were fired for getting sick on the job. Without giving too much away, what begins as a normal fraud cause might just turn in to the beginning of the end for the human race. Granted, there's a lot more than that going on in director Thomas J. Churchill 's pre-apocalyptic tale. Along for the ride with Brooke are Stephen Geoffreys , he of the original Fright Night fame, an...

This trailer will land you in Agua Caliente

A couple of months back we sat down with actor Josh Hammond and shot the breeze about his upcoming comedy Agua Caliente, which he stars in, co-wrote and produced. Now we've got the trailer for this bad boy and we're going to share it with you, Basement Dwellers! Agua Caliente is about a group of friends who are supposed to make a dramatic film called Breaking the Wind. Instead, they blow the film's budget on a booze and drug-infested night on the town. Fearing repercussions from the mobster who financed the project, the friends decide to make a horror movie using unsuspecting guests at a Halloween party to flesh out the cast. Sounds like fun, and the trailer promises a zany good time. You can learn more about Agua Caliente over at its official site . We'll keep you posted on the film's pending release! Red: Werewolf Hunter, Assassination Games and an interview with Josh Hammond

No, the guy above isn't actor/producer/screenwriter Josh Hammond, the talented dude who is Jason and Shawn's feature interview on this, the latest episode of Film Reviews From the Basement. The guy in the picture is the Muscles From Brussels and he's been known to do a little Van Dammage. But Josh Hammond is no stranger to the big screen either, having drawn up a laundry list of film credits in features like The Tripper, where he starred alongside Jaime King and Lukas Haas, the Randy Quaid vehicle Black Cadillac and Scorcher with John Rhys Davies and Mark Dacascos. And, of course, there's the horror sequel and Basement fave Jeepers Creepers 2.    Josh recently wrapped production on the new mob comedy Aqua Caliente, which he also co-wrote and produced. He's dropped by The Basement to talk about it, his films, and what it's like working with Jay of Jay and Silent Bob himself -- Jason Mews. It's a fun interview and Josh is a great guy. We guarantee this i...
