Canada has a pretty proud horror tradition, having crafted such genre classics as Black Christmas, Scanners, American Mary, Ginger Snaps and countless others. We know our spooky stuff, that's for true! Now writer/director David Fowler hopes to keep the tradition alive with Welcome to the Circle. This creepy flick tells the story of a father and daughter who fall prey to a madman-worshiping cult situated in the deep woods. Judging from the trailer below, this one has it all; creepy masks, supernatural rituals, crazed cultists -- it's all here. Check out the trailer for yourselves: Welcome to the Circle stars Heather Doerksen, Matthew MacCaul and Taylor Dianne Robinson. No word yet on a release, but we'll keep you posted! How does one mix The Blob and Fatal Attraction? Well, leave it to B. Harrison Smith to figure out a way. We first met the writer/director during our Month from Hell in 2012, when we interviewed him and the cast o 6 Degrees of Hell, which Harrison wrote. He's the man who lined up our interviews with Corey Feldman, and later Eric Roberts, who starred in Harrison's Camp Dread. Now Harrison is ready to unleash his latest effort, The Special. And yes, it does look like some effed up -- and we say that lovingly -- mix of The Blob and Fatal Attraction. It's definitely a dark tale of sexual obsession. This has us intrigued. Take a look for yourselves: See what I mean? The Blob meets Fatal Attraction. The Special stars Davy Raphaely, Dave Sheridan and Sarah French. Harrison directs from a script by Mark Steensland and James Newman. No word yet on when we'll see The Special, but we in The Basement will keep our eye holes peeled! Source: Devilworks
