Review: Millennium After the Millennium

If listeners recall, during each of our sit downs with the fine folks behind the Back to Frank Blank campaign I have preached my love for the TV series Millennium. It is, in my biased opinion, the best TV show that ever was. Cancelled in its prime, the Lance Henriksen vehicle was never given a proper conclusion, which is where Back to Frank Black came into play. Troy Foreman, James McLean and company pushed for a grand finale that would give closure to the series, and lead character Frank Black's plight.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it

It's summer, which means it's holiday time for many people, Shawn and Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show co-host Howie Reimer among them. So where does that leave The Basement's weekly segment? In the capable hands of Jason and Morning Show co-host Shane Woodford of course!

Millennium After the Millennium

We Came from the Basement is scheduled to return to the Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show this upcoming Friday, and we're bringing our first interview in quite a while with us. Joining Jason and Shane Woodford at about 8:40 a.m. (Shawn is on vacation) are filmmakers Troy Foreman and Jason Morris, the driving forces behind the upcoming documentary Millennium After the Millennium .

Jason versus The X-Files Season 10, Ep. 2 & 3

The X-Files revival continues to truck along, drawing in big ratings -- at least by today's standards -- both in live broadcasts (that's another word for first run) and streaming. This is good news for fans, who likely want more seasons in the future, and studio executives, who want to make more money off a long-coveted franchise. The season debuted with a return to the alien conspiracy, and promises to revisit the spaceman for the season finale. In between? We've got the monster-of-the-week shows, baby, which fans long consider the best episodes The X-Files had to offer, myself included.  Is this still true? Stick with me!

Jason versus The X-Files Season 10, Ep. 1

I loved The X-Files before it was popular. I loved the show for a good five years. Then, like all TV series, it ran out of steam long before it actually ended. And I loved the idea of bringing Mulder and Scully back for a six-episode event to wrap-up loose ends. So did I love the first episode of the new X-Files, and do I look forward to seeing the next five? Stick with me!

The X-Files trailer pledges the truth is still out there

The debut of The X-Files revival is only months away, so it was high time the big wigs at Fox actually gave us a good look at Chris Carter's return to his magnum opus. Given how many X-Files fans are still out there, and the return of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to the roles that made them famous, there was a lot riding -- for me at least -- on this full-length trailer for the limited TV series. Does it live up to the hype and anticipation?

David Duchovny drops hints on The X-Files's return

It's no secret The X-Files is coming back to the small screen for a limited engagement, much like 24 did a year ago. To me, that's great news. I loved the first five seasons of the sci-fi/horror series, and sporadically checked back with the show now and again. The first movie was awesome. The less said about the second the better. The fact pretty much everyone involved with the show during it's decade-long run is back gives me hope that we're in for something special. Fans know very little at this point, other than the intent is to wrap up the mythology, which was somewhat unravelled when the series ended in the early 2000s.

The Basement and Lance Henriksen

As regular Basement readers/listeners know, Shawn and I interviewed Troy Foreman and James McLean of the Back to Frank Black campaign about a month ago. That effort is doing its damnedest to bring Lance Henriksen 's late 90s TV series Millennium back for a proper send off. A big part of Back to Frank Black is the Millennium Group Sessions podcast, which has featured Lance, series creator Chris Carter and most, if not all, of the cast and crew.
