Jason takes a Bullet to the Head

There was an era of action movies when men where men, women were hot and showed their boobs, and disputes were settled with violent bloodshed. This was the 1980s, and it's sorely missed. Fortunately, every once in a while, a movie like Bullet to the Head comes along to remind us of this glorious time. And, in a place like The Basement, there is much rejoicing. After watching their respective partners die, a New Orleans hitman and a Washington D.C. detective form an alliance in order to bring down their common enemy. How's that for a plot, motherfuckers!?! Lean, mean and to the point -- just like the action movies of the 80s. The fact  Bullet to the Head and The Last Stand were largely ignored by the movie-going public says little about the quality of the films and a lot about how retarded modern audiences are. Sure, they'll drop $12 for bullshit like Twilight and The Hunger Games, but won't spend a dime on glorious carnage like this, Pussies, every last on...

@TheSlyStallone tweets on The Expendables 3

Sylvester Stallone is the man. Sure, Bullet to the Head didn't do any business, but his Rocky Balboa , Rambo and first two Expendables movies have been huge international hits. Of all the aging action guys, Bruce Willis aside, who can say that? Stallone is currently writing The Expendables 3 and took to his Twitter account today to share some details. Here's what he had to say: Writing EX3 at the moment... there are going to be mountains of surprises..Took the girls riding .. They are loving horses like their folks EX3 needs NEW blood and more humor.... The films were always meant to be more on the humorous side with moments of drama No S. Seagal, sorry ,but maybe we get lucky with J. Chan! And some young bloods!!! Interesting. Looks like those Jackie Chan rumours from a couple of months back were just that -- rumours. And no Steven Seagal , eh? Guess he's too busy eating his latest bucket of chicken. As for bringing in young blood -- who? Dwayne Johns...

"What are we? F@#king Vikings?" A clip from Stallone's Bullet to the Head

A long headline, I know. But I couldn't resist. Love that line. Love it! We're uber excited in The Basement that Sylvester Stallone 's latest effort, Bullet to the Head , finally hit theatres today. And we hope audiences are kinder to it than they were to Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Last Stand and Jason Statham 's Parker . Lean and mean R-rated action flicks are the only way to go when it comes to the genre. And Sly is one of the founding fathers. Please, Basementites, get out there and support his film. Then go and see The Last Stand and Parker. After watching their respective partners die, a New Orleans hitman and a Washington D.C. detective form an alliance in order to bring down their common enemy. Now enjoy this clip. It's got some great profanity, a valid point or two, and then the start of what promises to be an epic throwdown between Stallone and Jason Momoa . Catch a Bullet to the Head in the trailer for Stallone's latest

This has to be the biggest week for action fans. The Expendables 2 opens today, we got the preview for Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Last Stand yesterday, and right now we can unleash the trailer for Sylvester Stallone's next solo effort: Bullet to the Head. Bullet to the Head also marks the return of director Walter (48 Hours, The Warriors) Hill, who hasn't helmed a film in I don't know how long. Nice to have you back, Walter! As for the Bullet to the Head, it looks like a bunch of 80s action cliches blended into one carnage-filled movie. This is not a bad thing. We'll know more when it opens in February. But I do like what I see here, including the presence of babe Sarah Shahi and . . .  Christian Slater? Plus Sly and Jason Momoa have an axe fight. Cool. Enough babble. Watch and enjoy.
