Ring in the new year with Echoes of Fear

It's no secret Echoes of Fear is a recent Basement favourite. We shared much love for the movie here and here , and enjoyed the hell out of our conversation with its lovely star, the talented Trista Robinson. The film has already come home on a variety of platforms, but we've learned Brian and Laurence Avenent-Bradley's spooky thriller hits Digital on New Year's Day via Artist Rights Distribution. Big congrats to the writer/directors, and Trista's co-stars Hannah Race, Paul Chirico and Marshal Hilton. If you haven't caught Echoes of Fear yet, you won't have any excuses come Jan. 1, 2020. This is easily one of the best, and scariest, indie-horror movies to come along in quite some time. In the meantime, check out the trailer: Source: Echoes of Fear

Festival fave Echoes of Fear gets theatrical run

The award-winning horror romp Echoes of Fear, which nabbed Best Supernatural Horror Feature at Shriekfest, is about to embark on a 14-theatre run across the United States. That's gotta be pretty cool beans for writer/directors Brian and Laurence Avent-Bradley. Their flick looks solid too, with lots of creeping shadows, ghostly spectres, and things that go bump in the night. And some good looking women too. Give it a view: After inheriting her grandfather's home, Alysa (Trista Robinson) moves in to make the necessary repairs in order to sell it. As she begins packing her grandfather's belongings, something inside the house starts spooking her. Even her pet mouse senses a presence. And now, within the secret rooms and hidden crawlspaces beneath the estate, Alysa must confront the mystery of her grandfather's past, and the evil that hides inside his house. Sounds like everything you need to craft a good ghost story! And our U.S. brothers and sisters can check out...

The journey will kill you in Scooter

Hard to believe The Blair Witch Project is 20 years old. However, it's found-footage aesthetic is still felt in the horror genre, as the upcoming Scooter will attest to. Described as Blair Witch meets Joyride, Scooter features a trio of YouTubers tasked with going on a 866-mile adventure on scooters. They quickly discover that it's not the destination that kills you, but the journey. Here's a trailer for your eye holes: Nice production values, and definitely a timely enough concept given our age of YouTube and social-media obsession. We'll see if Scooter has enough going on under the hood when it hits select theatres in September. Source: Artist Rights Distribution
