You could say I'm on a bit of a retro kick lately, as I decided to revisit the hilarious and tense classic An American Werewolf in London. This movie ages like a fine wine; it being even better than I remember it. It's one of the few movies that can switch between horror and comedy so easily, and not pull you out of the whole experience. Sometimes the elements cross over perfectly, leaving you laughing at the cheeky, morbid display before you. I think a lot of this is thanks to comedy director John Landis, and how he approaches the characters. He humanizes them all in a funny, but genuine, way. The leads, David (David Naughton) and Jack (Griffin Dunne), have excellent chemistry; they seem like a couple of buds you actually want to have a beer with.
