The Basement's own Shawn and Billy Trigger

It's no secret yours truly got himself shot to death on the set of Billy Trigger little more than a year ago. What Basementites might not be aware of is our own Shawn has contributed music to the Montreal -based action film . That's right, this musically talented mofo wrote and performs the flick's end credits song Pull the Trigger, a bad ass piece of hard rock/heavy metal perfect for a movie like this. You heard his work as lead singer for The Stars of Fiction earlier this week. Check out his solo tunes right here . Also contributing music to the flick -- which our man John Fallon wrote and stars in under Christian Viel's direction -- are French actor, musician and composer Rurik Salle. His band Fugu Dal Bronx perform Dead March, Insistation, Musoo and Twist the Knife. Franck Barraud contributes an instrumental song called No Limits. Anderson Bradshaw, Deke Richards , Meghan Gabruch and the great Fred "The Hammer" Williamson co-star in Billy ...

Billy Trigger is locked!

The final edit of the Montreal-based action flick Billy Trigger, written and starring John Fallon, is complete! What does this mean? The world is one step closer to seeing this movie on the big screen. Excited? You should be. Here's what John had to say about the state of the project, which shot last November: "I believe that Billy Trigger is the best film (director/editor) Christian Viel and I ever collaborated on. His camera work is tops and his action scenes are bad and ass. This is also (surprisingly) the “meatier” flick we’ve ever done as the characters/relationships are fleshed out and layered. A result of the many re-writes I did on the script at the request of executive producer Berge Garabedian and director Viel and of the actors, who brought their own ideas and of course their own energy on set. For example, there’s a love story in the film that wasn’t really on the page, but that was born and took life on set due to the chemistry two of the actors shar...

Post production begins on Billy Trigger

It's been a long ass time since we've provided Basementites with an update on the Montreal -based action flick Billy Trigger. You know, the movie that stars John Fallon and Fred Williamson -- otherwise known as The Hammer . The movie I get killed in. Well, word hit today via Fallon himself that post production has begun on the shoot 'em up . It's all in the hands of the editor, sound designer and composer now. That composer is our own Shawn , by the way. No word yet on when Billy Trigger will get released. But you know damn well we'll keep you posted. In case you've been living under a rock these last several months, here's what the flick is all about: I rish mobster Billy Trigger has been the O’Brien family’s number one enforcer for three years now. And for good reason: he is cold, calculating and relentless and has never tackled a job he couldn’t finish. His life is trouble-free and solitary and consists mainly of three things: loose wome...

A report from Billy Trigger: Part 1

Looking back at my experience on the set of Billy Trigger, it's all become one big blur. A fast-paced and surreal adventure that won't ever be forgotten. I travelled somewhere I'd never been before, hung out with some great people, met Fred "The Hammer" Williamson, and got my ass killed on film. Pretty awesome stuff really! To break it down: I touched down in Montreal at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and caught a taxi to the downtown office John Fallon shares with fellow actor/producer Deke Richards, who fans will remember from Deaden. Richards plays mobster Mikey in Billy Trigger. It was good to see The Arrow again, and we caught up over a few whiskies before hitting a local pub, McKibbins, which doubles as the bar owned by The Hammer's character, Pops, in the film. John said I can't come to Montreal and not have some traditional poutine. I've had the dish before, but nothing compares to the plate I downed at McKibbins. Good grub! Then...

Lights, camera, ACTION! Billy Trigger begins filming today!

We want to take a few moments and send a big shout out to our bro John Fallon, director Christian Viel, producer Berge Garabedian and the rest of the cast and crew of Billy Trigger as the film begins shooting today in Montreal . . . in more ways than one! From Shawn and I and the rest of  The Basement crew, break a leg! And I look forward to joining you all on set Nov. 15 and 16. I've been told to pack a pair of jeans, a leather jacket and my all balls. All three are ready to go! Billy Trigger is the first full-length feature financed by popular movie fansite JoBlo.com, and it reunites Fallon with director Viel. The two collaborated on Recon 2020, Recon 2022: The Mezzo Incident, Recon 2023: The Gauda Prime Conspiracy and Deaden in 2006.  The plot you ask? Irish mobster Billy Trigger has been the O’Brien family’s number one enforcer for three years now. And for good reason: he is cold, calculating and relentless and has never tackled a job he couldn’t finish. Hi...

The Basement and Billy Trigger

Who would have thought that a podcast recorded in a basement would lead to this? On Nov. 15 and 16 yours truly (this is Jason by the way) is headed to Montreal to get my ass kicked and killed in the upcoming action flick Billy Trigger. And I can't freakin' wait! Better yet, the man killing me is Billy Trigger himself -- John Fallon. Yup, the same dude who was our honoured guest at Dark Fest 2012 and is the star of Dead Shadows. You might also know him as The Arrow of Arrow in the Head. And I get to act opposite Fred Williamson as one of his evil henchmen. Pumped much? Yes! What does this mean for The Basement? Our first official set visit bitches, that's what! I'll be reporting throughout my two days on set and provide the gory details of my untimely demise. It'll be awesome, promise! Billy Trigger is the first full-length feature financed by popular movie fansite JoBlo.com. It reunites Fallon with director Christian Viel. The two collaborated on Recon...
