Jay's Top 5 of 2015

You may recall we only Top 5s here in The Basement. Why? Because, when crunched for time on live radio, it was quicker to get five list items in then 10. Hence, Shawn and I have always listed off five of things instead of 10s. It's just that simple. While everyone else has a Top 10 list of best movies from the last year, I have five. This is good as I didn't even get to see a fraction of what came out in 2015. Partly due to time, partly due to money, and partly due to a lack of interest.

Summer 2015 and Anne Hathaway takes a Shower

They said they'd be back, and Jason and Shawn are indeed back with another podcast designed to pleasure your earholes while possibly offending your sensibilities. But it's all good, right? I said right!?! Not ones to engage much in mainstream, movies, The Basement Boys first tackle the summer that was, sounding off on cinematic successes and failures that began with Furious 7 back in April and ended with recent releases like The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and whatever else came out last week. Those lovable a-holes also offer insight into why this summer's slate of movies was more or less received with a collective thud than the excitement of summers long gone.

Final Mad Max: Fury Road trailer is off the hizzle

"Off the hizzle" is still a hip saying right? Not that we really give a shit about such things, especially when it comes to our opinion of movies etc. and what other people think of them. And we really don't care if YOU don't think this final trailer for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road is off the hizzle, because we think it is. And that's all that matters.

Some bad ass Mad Max: Fury Road images

We've still got a whole year to wait for George Miller's latest instalment in the Mad Max saga, but the marketing is finally gearing up for the much anticipated Fury Road. I say finally because the movie has been done for a while and us Road Warrior fans wanna see some cool shit, dammit!

A new look at Tom Hardy as Mad Max

Yes, George Miller's latest installment in his Mad Max franchise is still a couple of years away, but our boys at Arrow in the Head have scored a new look at the new Max. And it can be confirmed that Tom Hardy , who steps in for Mel Gibson , does indeed look like the Road Warrior . This is a good thing. Observe: We don't know much about Mad Max: Fury Road other than it's a continuation of the series, not a reboot or remake. Gibson didn't return because, well, you know. Mad Max: Fury Road also stars Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Witness the Mad Max: Fury Road vehicles in motion

Not that this is actual action-packed footage from the upcoming Mad Max sequel. It's literally just a minute or so of vehicles driving around with some dramatic music playing. But, until we get a trailer, it's something. Mad Max: Fury Road is co-written and directed by George Miller , and is the fourth film in Miller's Mad Max franchise . No, Mel Gibson will not return as Max. The great Tom Hardy (pictured) has been handed the torch. But Miller has assured fans this is not a reboot or remake. It's a continuation of the story. Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult co-star in Fury Road, which is due out next year. Yes, next year. That's going to be a long-ass wait. Fuckers!
