I've never read Jack London's classic The Call of the Wild, but I really should. I love adventure stories, be they about man or beast, and have always had a strong desire to shrug off society and go live in the woods somewhere.
So I relate to Harrison Ford's character in this big-screen adaptation of London's 1903 novel... at least the getting away from it part. And I'm becoming a cranky old man myself.
We've got a pretty solid looking story here that should be good family entertainment. I'm betting my son will enjoy this one, which is why I post about it here, on a site known for genre films.
That and I'm a huge Ford fan, and wonder how much longer he'll stick with us...
Check out the trailer:
The Call of the Wild is directed by Chris Sanders, and also stars Dan Stevens, Karen Gillan, and Omar Sy. We'll catch it in theatres Feb. 21, 2020.
