The Horde directors offer up a zombie-soccer bloodbath

That's right, zombie-soccer bloodbath. We've had zombie beavers. Now it's zombies and soccer. I'd cry, but real men don't.

However, Goal of the Dead comes from Benjamin Rocher and Thierry Poiraud, who made the bad ass French zombie flick The Horde, so all is not lost. In fact, The Horde was pure awesome. So maybe. Just maybe.

We have the red-band announcement trailer for your eye holes. I don't understand a lot of what's being said, because it's in French. But the images are pretty in a zombie-soccer bloodbath kinda way. Check it:

The two-part horror/comedy centers around a French Olympic football team who visits a small village in Northern France to play a crucial game in the run-up to the World Cup. But as the apocalypse looms, an epidemic quickly spreads and transforms the players, spectators and inhabitants into strange and enraged creatures.

You know what, this could be fun. And bloody. Which would make it bloody good fun.
