Sinners and Saints duo return for Daylight's End

It's no deep, dark secret that Shawn and I have a lot of man love for director William Kaufman and actor Johnny Strong's love letter to 80s action cinema, Sinners and Saints. So when we found out Kaufman and Strong have another bad-to-the-ass movie headed our way, we put down or beers and took notice.

A post-apocalyptic zombie thriller, Daylight's End sees Strong joined by Sinners and Saints co-stars Louis Mandylor and Mark Hanson, as well as UFC champ Anderson Silva and the great Lance Henriksen. Impressed? We are. Chad Law wrote the film.

But what's it about? Check it: years after a mysterious plague has devastated the planet and turned most of humanity into blood-hungry creatures, a rogue drifter on a vengeful hunt stumbles across a band of survivors in an abandoned police station and reluctantly agrees to help them defend themselves and escape to the sanctuary they so desperately need.

Sounds like a Basement movie if ever there was one. And, given the unadulterated awesomeness of Sinners and Saints, I have no doubt Kaufman and Strong will deliver another winner.

Cameras rolled on Daylight's End earlier this month. We'll keep yah posted on the flick as it continues through production.
