It's poster day in The Basement. Just accept it. We do. At least the posters rule.
Just look at the gorgeous image above. And, much like the Man of Steel poster, this one for the latest Trek plays against expectations. And I dig that.
Granted, it doesn't tell us much about what the sequel to one of the best reboots/re-imaginings ever made is about. We're assured of carnage, that's for sure. And it looks like that carnage takes place on Earth. Take that, peace-loving memory of Gene Roddenberry!
For the record, that's the back of villain Benedict Cumberbatch. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg return as Kick, Spock, Uhuru and Scotty respectively. And J.J. Abrams once again sits in the director's chair.
Star Trek Into Darkness lands in theatres May 17, 2013. The first trailer is set to appear before The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Thanks to MTV UK for the info.
